Intimate Partner Violence (IPV)
Unifor Local 240 is committed to raising awareness of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) and supporting members affected by abuse. Everyone deserves to feel safe at home, work, and in their community.
In December 2025, Local 240 members and our Executive board brought forward a resolution at Unifor’s Ontario Regional Council calling for a coordinated provincial lobbying campaign to advocate for increased funding, stronger public education and a province-wide response to support survivors. IPV continues to trace our workplaces and communities every day, and recognizing it as an epidemic is a critical step youths meaningful action, improved supports, and lasting change.
This section provides information, educational resources, support services and updates on Local 240’s advocacy efforts to help members access assistance, raise awareness and be part of the movement to end intimate partner violence.
